How does the SKU system work?
The SKU should be applied when you’re physically delivering the items. You pick the item from your inventory and then will add it to the order. (It’s not practical to first assign the SKU, then look for that specific item in your fleet).
To make the SKU system work, you need to choose the SKU option in each product category and save it. If you’re planning to assign specific products to orders, you can use the SKU system. (In general, if you don’t need to customize each order and track all items then using SKU is slowing down your rental process).
Then add your products either by importing through CSV file or manually.
On the product page add an SKU number:
Now, all your products have their assigned SKUs.
Create a new order now from the Order page. Click on the Rent orders, then deliver the order by clicking on the double arrow in Actions.
The items on your order are not connected to any specific products at this point.
Then, you will take the order to the delivery department and assign the SKUs to the order (On the delivery page). If there is no preference for a product, you can skip this step and press Deliver without assigning SKU.
Select an available SKU for the item.
You can change the assigned SKU even after the order is delivered.
