How to Collect a Payment through Your Integrated Terminal
If you have a payment terminal integrated with Rentrax, you can easily process payments through Rentrax. Before purchasing new hardware from your payment processing company, ensure that it's compatible with Rentrax. Not all providers have terminals integrated with Rentrax, though we're always adding new devices to our list, so it's a good idea to double-check before making a purchase.
Once you've received your payment terminals, please contact our support team and ask them to enable in-person payments in your settings.
To collect a payment, start by clicking on the "PAY" button on the invoice. The payment dialogue box will open automatically.
If there is no invoice, you can use the "Collect Payment" button next to "Payment History."
If your devices are connected properly, you will see the list of connected devices on the "Card Present" tab of the payment dialogue.
To process a payment, select the device you'd like to use from the Card Present tab and click "Pay." The "Amount Due" will be pre-set to the remaining balance for that order, but you can edit it to charge any amount within the balance limit.
Before processing a payment, ensure that the devices you want to use are connected, in working order, and ready to receive transaction signals. Click on one device button to put it in processing status. You can then proceed with the payment as usual with the customer's card. Once the payment is complete, the order payment will be made and closed.
