The Schedule Maintenance feature allows businesses to plan, track, and manage maintenance activities for specific products in their rental or inventory system. By scheduling maintenance, the system automatically:
- Blocks the product from being booked during the maintenance period (to avoid double-booking).
- Ensures the correct SKU and product details are attached, so staff can identify and track the exact item undergoing maintenance.
- Keeps a record of the maintenance activity for future reference, audits, or reporting.
This improves operational efficiency, reduces downtime surprises, and ensures that only well-maintained products are rented out to customers.
Example:
Suppose a ski rental shop notices one of their Rossignol Sender 90 Pro skis has a damaged binding.
- The shop manager uses the Schedule Maintenance feature.
- They select the specific product SKU (e.g., RS90P-2025-007).
- They block it for maintenance from March 5th to March 7th.
- During this time, the ski will not be available for booking in the system.
- Once maintenance is completed, the ski is marked as available again.
This prevents customers from accidentally booking an unsafe or unavailable product.
